History
Dr. Daly Walker, now retired, started Southern Indiana Surgery in 1976 as a solo practice. In 1986, Dr. Gregory Millis, who passed away in 2009, was a practicing surgeon at St. Vincent Hospital and Healthcare Center in Indianapolis. He joined Dr. Walker that year at Southern Indiana Surgery.
Maintaining high recruiting standards, Dr. Millis, Dr. Walker built Southern Indiana Surgery into the regional leader in general surgery procedures and one of the state's largest surgery practices.
In 1994, Dr. C.O. Weddle, a now retired and respected physician in the Columbus community, merged his Columbus-based surgery practice into Southern Indiana Surgery.
Throughout the practice history, the surgeons of Southern Indiana Surgery have helped deliver the highest level of care and latest technology, including pioneering laparoscopic surgery and bariatric surgery in southern Indiana.
The Southern Indiana Surgery practice provides services to patients primarily from Bartholomew, Jackson, Jennings, Brown, Decatur and Shelby counties. Today, six board-certified surgeons provide Southern Indiana Surgery patients with high-quality, cost-effective care:
